Precautionary Measures against COVID-19

Upon the recent unfortunate events caused by the COVID-19, President Rodrigo Roa Duterte placed the Philippines under a state of calamity that will last for six months—this is to slow the spread of the disease, protect the Filipinos from the virus and avoid further loss of life. Enhanced community quarantine was declared in the entire Luzon and now extended for two more weeks, thus ending on April 30, 2020.

The Governor of the province of Albay, ordered to close all borders at 12:00 midnight of March 18, 2020—to prevent entry and isolate the people of Albay from the potential risk of contracting the virus. All modes of transportation from outside the province will not be allowed to enter— with only a few exceptions; transportation of basic essentials and goods, government officials and ambulance/health workers.

Onehalf strictly follows the “Social Distancing” rule to protect the company’s entirety. Staff are not allowed to loiter, stick as a group or eat beside each other at a close distance. Employees having family members coming home from Manila/out of the country were asked to undergo self-quarantine and stay at home. Alcohol, sanitizers and liquid hand soap dispensers were installed and refilled each day to help observe proper hygiene at the office.

Most of Onehalf employees are now working remotely— OH Logistics team helped transferring the desktop computers from the office to the staff’s home, Prepaid Wifi was also provided to each employees, while some preferred to stay in the office in compliance with the government’s rules. They are all provided with free food and accommodation. A Misting machine was also installed at the Office entrance for disinfection purposes.
